We have some congratulations to go out this week! First, we had another NRC runner find out that he was accepted to run the Boston Marathon 2014! We will all be cheering for Joe Singer as well as Daryl Middleton and Roy Tamez next April when they venture to Bean Town to run in the 118th Boston Marathon.
Second, our youngest NRC runner placed second in Williamson County Middle School XC County Meet with a time of 8:56 for the 1 ½ mile cross country course! We congratulate Jamie Blaylock for a job well done!!
Next up, Walk Tennessee! If you did not see Scott’s FB post as yet, here’s the gist…
Walk Tennessee is a city to city initiative that offers cities and its residents the opportunity to earn rewards for getting out and being active. Launched by the Tennessee Municipal League, it is a competition between all cities in Tennessee to determine which one is the most active. NRC as a group is participating for the Town of Nolensville! Winning would not only be a great accomplishment for our town, but it would also go a long way towards helping Nolensville receive funds to make it more runner friendly! Sign up today and begin to log your miles for points! The competition goes until February 28, 2014
- Set up a profile by going to http://www.cmecompete.com/communities/walk-tennessee/
- Join the community (Walk Tennessee) and then click on Teams. Under Teams, you will see City of Nolensville where you can join our team.
- In your activity feed, simply post how many miles you run or walk every run/walk you perform. For each mile, you and the city of Nolensville will receive one point.
Let’s show the state of Tennessee that we are the most active town around!! If you have questions, contact Scott at scottalexander68@comcast.net
