The latest up to the minute posting on NRC activities, events, and happenings.

Wednesday, April 18th

It’s another NRC Wednesday and time to run with great people!  For many of us who have spent months preparing for the Carmel Half or Full Marathon, this week’s run will be lower mileage and slower paces filled with encouraging words and well wishes!  For those who are still in hard training mode for other races coming up, the encouragment will be for you as well!  Come out and join in for a few miles and hear the battle stories of the training that many have endured as well be part of the excitement that is brewing!!

Remember that our run will begin at Martin’s at 6:15 pm.  This week after the run, join us for some serious carb loading at Amico’s located at 7177 Nolensville Road.

Saturday, April 14th

Running plans in Nolensville are coming in!  Given we are a week out from Carmel, most mileages and paces are down.

Scott and I will be starting from Martin’s at 7:00 a.m. to run 11 miles. Pace will be around 9:15/9:30.

Steve is also beginning his run at 7:00 a.m. running 6-8 miles. He will start at a 10:30 pace, finishing just below 10:00.

Megan is starting at 6:45 a.m. to run 13 miles. Her pace will be a 8:30/9:00 pace for the first 11.  The final two miles at a 7:50/8:00 minute pace.

Nicole, Jennifer, Danielle and Adriane are starting earlier at 6:30 a.m. (from Mama’s Java) and planning for 10 miles at a 9:30 pace.

Everyone is welcome to join us at Mama’s Java after the run for a group breakfast!

Best of luck to the Blaylock girls, Kelly Dever, and anyone else who may be running in the Purity Dash this weekend!  I’m sure they will represent NRC very well!

Wednesday, April 11th

Our website is back in working order after experiencing some technical difficulties lately. Thank you for your patience if you have tried to find us!

We’ve had a dip in temperature this week but nothing that should keep most from running! Our regular Wednesday evening run is scheduled for tonight at 6:15 p.m. starting from Martin’s. Come and join for just a couple miles or more. Many paces and distances are typically represented.

We announced recently that on Wednesday’s after the run we will choose a different location to join as a group for a post run meal. This week we are back at Martin’s. In the next few weeks we hope to visit Brick’s and the Mexican restaurant that is going in next to Martin’s. Stay tuned for details….

Hope everyone has a great run tonight!

Wednesday, April 4th

What?  NRC Wednesday!

Where? Martin’s Barb-B-Q!

When? 6:15 p.m. Wednesday

Why?  To meet and run with other South Nashville people who share common running goals!  Choose a distance that works for you, from 1 mile up to 6 with paces ranging in the low 7’s up 11:00.

After we run, we choose a local restaurant to eat together as a group.  This week we will be going to Uncle Bud’s Catfish Shack located at 7215 Nolensville Rd.

Saturday, March 31st

For several of us in the latter stages of training for upcoming half and full marathons this weekend includes the last long run on the schedule.  For this reason, we have decided to look for a route that does not have the hills of Nolensville!

We have decided on the Shelby Bottoms route that the Nashville Striders advertises.  I have attached a link to the course map below.  It is a 16 mile tour of Shelby Bottoms and LP Field that can be altered to add or subtract mileage to hopefully meet everyone’s needs.

We are planning to meet at Martin’s at 5:30 a.m. for anyone interested in carpooling. We will start running at approximately 6 a.m.

Several individuals will be running 2o+ miles while others will be running 10 to 11 miles. Paces will range from the 8’s up to the 10’s.

If I hear of other plans from those who would prefer to stay in Nolensville to run, I will update the website throughout the day!  Stay tuned….

To everyone running Carmel or Country Music…it’s getting close!!!  Good luck with your final weeks of preparation.

Wednesday, March 28th

Now that we have warmer temperatures for our Wednesday evening runs, we have decided to go back to Martin’s as our meeting place!

So, this week we will meet at Martin’s at 6:15 p.m. to begin our Wednesday routes. After the run we will eat at Martin’s for a group meal of some beer, ribs, and barbecue!! 🙂

We have a 2, 3, 4, or 5 mile route that you can view on the Weekly Runs tab here on the website. Our paces range from 7:30 up to 11:00.

Hope to see everyone there!

Running plans are coming in slowly but surely!  Here is what I know so far….

There will be several of us starting at 6:30 a.m. from Mama’s Java to run between 10 and 15 miles. Paces will vary from the 9’s (Scott, Amy, Joe, Danielle) up to 10:30 (Steve).

Terry Bickel along with Tammy B will be running 4 miles starting at 7:30 a.m. for anyone looking for a slower pace option.

Feel free to join us!  As always, we will stay for breakfast at Mama’s Java after the run.

Please check back for other options that I may add throughout the day….

Wednesday, March 21st-Spring is Officially Here!…no more headlamps! :)

It’s a spring Wednesday and time to run with NRC!  It is obvious that the word is getting out about our group!  Our Wednesday group size keeps growing and growing. It’s great to see new faces each week of runners looking to make new connections! If  you have not joined us yet but have been thinking about, this week is your week! We would love to have you. Mama’s Java at 6:15 p.m., come on out!

We run anywhere from 2 or 3 miles up to 7 with a pace range betweem 11:00 minute to around 7:30.  We usually have 4 or 5 groups that run together to meet mileage and pace needs. Everyone is very welcoming!

Stay after the run to grab a bite to eat at Mama’s Java and finish the evening with what else? Talking about running, of course!  It’s always a fun time had by all….

Hope to see everyone again!
