Wednesday Night Running Location Change – Beginning December 7th

Beginning this week we will be moving the Wednesday night run to Mama’s Java.  Start time will remain at 6:15 p.m.  Meeting at Mama’s Java instead of Martin’s will allow us a place to gather during the cold, dark nights of winter while we are waiting for everyone to arrive and to make any announcements. There is plenty of parking around the back so try to use those spaces in order to keep the front ones open for patrons of the other businesses. Thanks and spread the word!  Hope to see everyone this week….

Don’t forget your reflective gear!

Latest News and Saturday Run Plans – Dec 3

I have several things to post this week, so here goes …

First off, running plans for tomorrow!  We will meet at Martin’s at 7:30 a.m.  There are options for everyone depending on individual mileage and pace goals.  Afterward, head to Mama’s Java for some post run refueling!   Hope to see some of you there!

Second… we have several NRC members racing this weekend!     Best of luck to Scott Alexander, Kelli Alexander, and Shawn Berkau who will be in Vegas to run the ½ Marathon!  What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas (unless it is news about a PR!)     Good luck to Darryl who is running the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis!      Also, good luck to those running in the Jingle Bell 5K (Laurie, Kelly and anyone else)!

Way to represent NRC!!

Scott asked me to mention that beginning this Wednesday (December 7) our Wednesday night runs are going to start from Mama’s Java instead of Martin’s.  We have decided to make this change so that we can stay inside during the colder months as we take the time to gather and make announcements. The time will remain at 6:15 p.m.  Saturday runs however will still start from Martin’s.

If you have not already heard… our NRC Ragnar Relay team created a video (thanks to Amy Owsley) of the experience! It has been submitted to the Ragnar video contest.  We are trying to get the most votes in order to win a free entry for next year.  You must be on Facebook in order to vote.  Visit the NRC Facebook page to get the link and vote!

Last but not least!  Remember Sunday from 4-5 at the Nolensville United Methodist Church – FREE YOGA by our very own NRC member, Erin Pryor!

FREE YOGA!!

There aren’t many things in life that are free.  However, one of our very own NRC’ers is giving us an opportunity to do something beneficial for our bodies without spending a dime!!  Erin Pryor will be conducting a beginner’s yoga session on Sundays from 4:00 – 5:00 at Nolensville United Methodist Church.  All you will need is a mat (or towel if you don’t own a mat) and comfortable clothes.  The class will take place in the fellowship hall.  If you park at the back of the church and enter the building through the back door, the fellowship hall is the first room that you will enter.  Aren’t familiar with the location of the church?  It is on Nolensville Road less than half a mile from the old Nolensville Elementary School (heading away from Nashville).

Thanks Erin for giving us runners a free and fun (it is fun….right?) way to do something that all of us need to do!!  I will be there and I hope to see many of you there as well 🙂

NRC Running Schedule for Saturday, November 12th

Over the last month, a large number of NRC’ers have completed marathons, half-marathons, and even a 196 mile relay!!  Although we still have a few who have upcoming races that they are training for, most of us are simply hoping to get in a nice, easy Saturday morning run.  With that being said, we will meet at 7:30am at Martin’s Barbecue and everyone can run the distance of their choice.  I know of a few runners who will be running 8 miles.  Others will be running 3-4 miles.  I will be running 6 miles at a 10 minute pace and would love to have some company!!  C’mon out and join us for a fun run followed by breakfast and fellowship at Mama’s Java

Running Plans for Saturday 10/29

Hey All!  Here are the running plans that we know of for this week. Several of us are meeting at Martin’s at 6:30 a.m. to run between 6 and 9 miles at about a 9:15 – 9:30 pace. We should be back to Martin’s mid run around 7:30 a.m. if any one wants to join in. All are welcome!

Run Happy!!

Amy

Saturday Morning (10/22) Running Plans

Looking forward to having a Saturday morning run in Nolensville after being away for the last couple of weeks!!  Now that marathon training is over for some of us (yet in the final stages for a few others), the weekend runs will not be quite as long.  Here is what’s on tap for tomorrow:

7:30am – There will be a few different groups (running different mileage and paces) that will meet at Martin’s at 7:30.  Amy Klotz, Tandy Blaylock and maybe a couple of more are running 8-10 miles at a 9 minute pace.  Shawn Berkau will also be running 8 miles (pace unknown but probably 10:30 – 11:00 minute pace).  Scott Alexander and Matthew Foust will be running 3 miles at a 10 minute pace.  Please feel free to come out and join any of us or, if you want to run other distances, I will have routes for distances ranging from 2 to 5 miles.

Thanks and hope to see a lot of you tomorrow morning!!

Saturday Morning (10/1) Running Plans

If you haven’t done so yet, Saturday morning may be a great time to break out the long sleeves as it is going to be a cool morning!!  This Saturday also marks the last weekend run until the Chicago Marathon (next Sunday) for Kelli, Shawn, Amy, Diane, and Scott.  Several of us will be running shorter distances in preparation for 26.2 miles next week.  With that being said, here are some options for those searching for a run this weekend:

6:30am – Kelli’s regular running partner Shawn will be running in a 5k tomorrow morning so she welcomes anyone who may want to come out and join her for an 8 mile run.  She will be running at an 11:30ish pace.  If you want to join her, she will be at Martin’s at 6:30.

7am – Amy and Scott are meeting at Martin’s and planning on an eight mile run.  Their pace will be a little slower than normal (probably in the 9:30 range).  I believe that several others will also be joining them so please come out and join if you can!!

7:30am – For those who want to get a few extra minutes of sleep, come on down at 7:30.  Just be sure to be back by 8:30 or so as we plan on going to Mama’s Java for our post-run breakfast!!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!!
