“Friends don’t let friends drive…they make them run!”

It’s time again to join in for NRC Wednesday! This time get your miles in to justify some post run chips and salsa at Campo Azul.

Hope to see everyone for the start of the run at 6:15 pm from Town Hall. We had record numbers this past Saturday morning. Hopefully tomorrow will be more of the same!

Saturday, January 5th

It’s time to get motivated and prepare for your weekend long run!  You will have a stronger run if you start off the right way. Remember breakfast is critical for runners as it not only provides energy your body needs during your miles but also assists your muscles to recover. And it may even keep you from getting cranky, which your running buddies will greatly appreciate!  Run Happy All!

“The more I run, the more I want to run, and the more I live a life conditioned and influenced and fashioned by my running. And the more I run, the more certain I am that I am heading for my real goal: to become the person I am.” –George Sheehan

Welcome to the New Year!

It’s the first NRC Wednesday of 2013!  This is an exciting time for many who are just at the beginning stages of training for spring half and full marathons. One of the best ways to get and stay motivated is to run with the support of fellow runners who can share your vision and passion.  Therefore, start out this year by joining us tonight at Town Hall at 6:15 pm to run a few miles followed by dinner at the NEW location of Uncle Bud’s located at 7240 Nolensville Road next to Martin’s Barb-B-Q and Sonic.

Happy New Year NRC!

Last long run of 2012!!

Despite the cold blustery conditions that we had this past Wednesday evening, NRC turned out in full force for the last weekly group run of 2012.  Don’t let the cold temps keep you indoors this weekend!  We have running plans starting to come together.

7:30 am From the Concord Y – There are a number of runners tackling 10 miles at a 9ish pace. (Scott, Amy, Danielle, Erin, The Singers, David C).  After the run, we will return to Mama’s Java for our normal post run breakfast.

8:30 am Running the greenway from Smyrna Town Hall  – Kelli, Suzanne, Tiffany and company are running 9 miles at an 11ish pace

To swipe a quote that JP added to our FB page..it’s a good one!  “There are clubs you can’t belong to, neighborhoods you can’t live in, schools you can’t get into, but the roads are always open.”

And I’ll add another…”You have to wonder at times what you’re doing out there. Over the years, I’ve given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.”

Enjoy your training runs this weekend NRC! Share your successes and accomplishments with each other from 2012 while finding inspiration for the upcoming year!
